ON and CHANEL(LED)

I've been absent these 2 weeks, a few days more than the predicted because of the Icelandic vulcano. Now I'm returned and connected to the world as that days in Portugal I was off, just taking my time to relax....

And has I'm updating myself....I just discover the Chanel Cruise Collection 2011 presented this week in St. Tropez. Is no longer a novelty that we are being inspired by the 70's ( I wrote a post about that 2 months ago), "uncle" Karl surprise us with a collection full of 70's references, the location of the show was also a surprise.

Reference to Jane Birkin.

Reference to Jane Birkin knits and to the suit used by Bianca Jagger on her wedding with Mick Jagger.

Reference to Bardot's shorts and boots and to the angelic white of Jane Birkin.

Reference to the boho dresses used by Brigitte Bardot and to the St. Tropez "feeling".

Refernce to Jane Birkin's formula t-shirt and jeans; reference to Bardot's metal swimsuit.

Inspiration on the 70's also visible in the colour palette and a clear reference to the music clip "Harley Davidson" sing Brigitte Bardot.

The acessories inspired by the the typical French Riviera pattern - Vichy; the shape of the caramel bag resembles to the fisherman baskets; a bag with fishnet; and the thong sandals that I'm in love with.

This week the brand launched also a short movie with clear references to the 70's : a 70's party; reference to Jane Birkin when someone mistake the model by Jane Birkin; reference to Bianca and Mick Jagger wedding; reference to the film "And god created the women" played by Brigitte Bardot, when one model dances; reference to Andy Wharol's superstar Donna Jordan and it continues.
