Fairest of Them All

Last week H&M apoligize for using an ultra tanned model. The advertising campaign shows model Isabeli Fontana on a bikini in an ultra bronzed skin, creating the image that tan equals to ideal beauty. In a time where skin cancer is killing so many people maybe this was the wrong colour tone chose on photoshop. In 2009 I've made a post about celebrities showing their orange skin, you can read it here
Appart from Cancer which there's another disease called Tanorexia, the addition of all year long tan and to indoor sun tanning. On the beggining of May a women in the USA was accused for putting her 6 year old daughter on a tanning bed, the teacher of the little girl noticed it because she arrived on school with sunburn.
Tanning Mom, Patricia Krentcil with her daughter (she looks like an alien!)
Vogue America May issue has an article talking about the "Tan Ban", the return of the porcelain skin and sparkling moonrise kissed faces.
Lara Stone, Emma Stone, Rooney Mara;  Michelle Williams; Carey Mulligan; Georgia May Jagger they all adopted the tan ban look.
Lucia Pieroni makeup artist of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" says "A healthy glow is fine, but a tan - is not modern at all."
Movies are also a big influence and reflection of our times. There's a subliminar message in the last movies, the porcelain skin look are making us rethink tanning.
Jonnhy Depp and Eva Green in "Dark Shadows"; Lily Collins and Julia Roberts in "Mirror Mirror" and Charlize Theron in "Snow White and the Huntsman".
And to finish my tan ban products. As I have dark spot problems I need to use high SPF protection. I use Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50+ everyday after my anti dark spot moisturizer, I like the texture, I've tried other sunscreens before, but this one doesn't live my skin oily. I use lipstick from the same range on the beach. And this week I discovered powder sunscreen, I need to try it! Did you know that you need to reapply sunscreen every 90 minutes? So...if you put your sunscreen and makeup at 8 am. are you going to reapply sunscreen over your makeup to go out lunch ? It sounds weird, no ?
Roche Posay Anthelios XL 50+ and lispstick from the same range; and the mineral powder I'm looking to try out, Anti-Aging Instant Mineral SPF 45 from Peter Thomas Roth.

  1. Where can I get some of That Peter Thomas Roth Lotion? I've been tanning for several years now and I never had problems in using any tanning lotion or even a tanning bed that I think same with a celebrities skin, it is really good for my skin and body.

  2. Getting sun is good for your skin it fixes your calcium and Vitamin D, but you need to take care when getting it, always put protection, don't expose from 10 to 4pm, use an hat.
I think that you can buy Peter Thomas Roth powder in the USA. Try their webdite, maybe you will find where to buy it.
